Size: The Maine Coon is the largest breed of domestic cat. The size of a full grown male Coon cat is typically 15-25 pounds, while the female averages between 10-5 pounds. The height of the male cat is 10-16 inches and be about 40 inches long. The coon cat will grow until they are about 4 years old.

Diet: 1/4 to 1/3 cup per feeding up to about 8 wks. 1/3 cup to 3/4 cup per feeding up to 6 months and beyond, depending on weight. Research shows that adult cats need a minimum of 26 percent protein in their diet.
Grooming Requirements: Require weekly grooming to keep its striking coat in good condition. If the grooming process is started as a kitten they soon become used to it and enjoy the attention it brings. Brush the teeth to prevent periodontal disease. Daily dental hygiene is best, but weekly brushing is better than nothing. Trim the nails weekly.
Colors: The most common color and pattern is the brown classic or mackerel tabby but Maine Coons are also seen in solid pattern (white, black, blue and red), tortoiseshell pattern (black, blue), tabby pattern (classic or mackerel - brown, blue, red, cream), silver pattern (black-silver, blue-silver, red-silver, cream-silver).
