Breed Traits: Balinese share the traits of the short-haired Siamese, and are notably social and playful cats with an interest in the activity around them and a tendency to vocalize often.
Diet: 1/4 to 1/3 cup per feeding up to about 8 wks. 1/3 cup to 3/4 cup per feeding up to 6 months and beyond, depending on weight. Research shows that adult cats need a minimum of 26 percent protein in their diet. Brush the teeth to prevent periodontal disease.
Grooming Requirements: Regular weekly brushings, exercise, healthy diets and good dental hygiene are recommended for this kitty. Providing your pet Balinese kitty with a variety of pet kitten toys will ensure your pet kitten has good mental and physical stimulation.
Colors: Balinese kittens have slightly larger ears than other cats. The Balinese cat breed consists of the following color points: The Traditional Color Points of Seal, Chocolate, Blue, and Lilac which are the initial and true color points of the Balinese cat breed, the exotic Lynx points, and the Rare points of Red, Cream, Torties, and Foreign White.The Balinese coat is fine and silky and the hair is from half an inch to two inches long. The tail is plumed and the hair on the tail can be as long as five inches. They have Vibrant blue eyes and fine, silky, and medium length fur.
History: The "Balinese" is not actually from Bali or any part of Indonesia. Its history begins with the first Siamese cats that were imported from Thailand to the U.S. and UK in the mid-1800s, some of whom carried the recessive long-haired gene.
